Day 16 - New Jersey or Bust

Today we rose early and departed the Bar Harbor RV Park (Bar Harbor, Maryland) around 9:00 AM.  Jim was feeling much better, the weather was gorgeous and we were anxious to get to NJ.  The ride took us about 3 1/2 hours.  It should have only taken about 2 1/2 hours, but we came to a dead stop near Wilmington, Delaware due to a four vehicle crash on I-95.  The vehicles were pretty well damaged, and I pray there were no fatalities.

We arrived at Jim's sister's house around 12:30.  She lives in what used to be a chicken coop on a country homestead.  Our Nephew Bill and his wife Karen, along with Karen's mother Barbara. live in the main house on what they affectionately call Four Acre Wood.  (Most of you might remember that Winnie the Pooh lived at 100 Acre Wood....).The main house was built in the 1800's, and has been modernized to include a master suite addition.  They have a pool which unfortunately was winterized just before we came, and a nine hole golf course on the property as well.

The Turtle is set up behind Penny's house where it is quiet and serene.  We even saw some deer on the property as we were setting up.  The dogs think they have died and gone to heaven with all this space to run and cooler temperatures!  Of course so do we!  A nice break from the 90-100 degree weather we left in Texas!

The evening was spent eating dinner at a local restaurant called The Stanton General Store.  The food was out of this world and the company and conversation evolved around family and travels.  Jim's brother Rob and his wife Rita, Billy. our nephew and his wife Karen, Karen's mother Barbara, Penny, Jim and I have not been together at the dinner table in a long time (years) so it was really nice to share this time together.

We hit the bed early tonight and are looking forward to a relaxing day tomorrow.  We do plan to visit a buffalo farm and do a tour of Flemington, NJ.  Jim needs a haircut, so we will fit that in as well.

Til next time.......
