Kids Day- Big and Small!

Wednesday, June 8,2016

Today we had a great day playing with Jason and the kiddos!  Shannon stayed home to home school Elijah.

We visited the oldest house in Lexington. This house was originally the home of  Dr.William Holt whom we mentioned in our blog yesterday. It is now a private residence.  From there we went to the Candy Factory to get some old fashioned candy and to take more pig pictures.

We had read, again as mentioned in our previous blog, that Lexington was the home of the first Silver Mine in the country.  So, we decided to set out to find and explore the mine.  Unfortunately we never did find it, so we went to Plan B.  This meant a trip to Greensboro and a visit to the Greensboro Science Center.  The Center includes a Sciquarium, a Herpetarium, as well as a Zoo, Dinosaur Exhibit, Extreme Weather Gallery and several interactive play areas.  Of interest to us was the Red Panda Exhibit (they are so cute)! We thoroughly enjoyed our visit to the Science Center and wish we had more time to explore more in depth.  If you are ever in this area, please make it a point to visit this wonderful facility. The grand kiddos and the adult kids had a great time. It is time well spent!  For more information go to www.greensboroughscience.org.

After arriving back home, we had dinner and spent some time with the kids before they went to bed.  Jim stayed up and watched a movie with Jason and I went to the RV and regrouped!

Tomorrow we begin our trek to New Jersey to visit Jim's brother and sister and their families .  We have enjoyed our time with Jason and his family and look forward to visiting with them again sooner than later!

Until next time.......
