Lizzie Days of Summer (Pun intended)

June 15, 2016

Not much to blog about today, as we spent most of the day getting ready for our departure tomorrow.  We spent some quality time with family and went to Stanton Station for dinner with the family.

The most exciting moment of the day was Lizzies encounter with a deer - a BIG deer.  She was outside the RV in her exercise pen having a fit about the cats and birds all around her and I was in the RV with the door open, watching her.  Jim was taking pictures of the deer and all of a sudden Lizzie cleared the exercise pen and took after that deer like her life depended on it!  Heaven only knows what she would have done with it if she caught it, but she was determined to do her best!

High-tailing right behind her were Jim and I at a much slower pace, trying to keep her in sight.  Thank goodness she has a "shepherds light" (white tip) at the end of her tail!  That is how the sheep shepherds find their sheep dogs in the mass of sheep or whatever they are herding.  Anyway, back to the story.  Lizzie ran and ran through a few pastures and I guess she lost the deer's scent and she finally worked her way back to the house.  But she wanted to make a game of it and we were in no mood for that, so I laid down in the woods and made like I was hurting and she came right to me and I tackled her until Jim could catch up to me with her leash.  Fun time over and no snacks for Lizzie that night.  She has had quite a few escapades on this trip, and that will be a separate blog all together!

Sweet and Innocent!

Sweet and innocent as well, until.....

Speedy gets to share the last dinner with family!

Going to miss these guys!

Til next time.......
